Restaurant Photography Case Study
What situation were you in before we began working together?
Our restaurant’s online bookings were extremely low and we realised that after 20 years in business, the industry had changed. We needed to embrace the online review and booking paradigm shift or close the doors on a business that would be very hard to sell.
What problem were you trying to solve with our product or service?
An out-dated website and poor quality food photography was letting us down for too long. With a new website being designed & developed, we needed a great food photographer to give our business visual legitimacy. Our old site wasn’t mobile-friendly and also used the same image on multiple pages - apparent new crimes that Google was penalising our search rankings for!
What made you choose our product or services?
The decision was made by comparing a range of Gold Coast photographer’s portfolios. While our website investment was already a stretch for us, we wanted the best photographer that we could find to shoot the job. Due to how well-crafted the lighting was in his portfolio, we called Paul from Gold Coast Marketing Collective, who also brought a fantastic food stylist into the project.
What has been the outcome?
Within these past 4 weeks of the site launch, our online bookings have increased 40-fold - and still rapidly climbing!
Is there any other feedback you'd like to share?
After meeting Paul the week prior to the shoot, we felt extremely comfortable with our decision to contract him for the photography. He listened attentively, asked a range of questions that we hadn’t considered and was very enthusiastic when we agreed to take his advice on the art direction of the shoot. We would never have considered this darker, moodier style of ‘low-key’ images, but we love them and the feedback has been overwhelmingly good!
